To Whom It May Concern:
It is with pleasure that I write in support of Mr. Jason Krug. I have personally known Jason Since he became involved in the Residence Hall Council and then Student Senate at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse over three years ago.
Jason began his college career at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse four years ago and immediately excelled both academically ans socially. He has studied Political Science, Public Administration and Economics and his professor think highly of him. IN addition to classroom learning, Jason chose a path of involvement in the La Crosse community. Jason was tapped for his leadership potential very early on in his tenure at UW-L. He quickly became involved in the Residence Hall Council, which subsequently led him to numerous roles of representing students in our student government and at the UW system level. Jason was asked to serve on several significant campus committees including Joint Planning and Budgeting and a system advisory committee addressing the difficult topic of budget cuts. These can be very intimidating settings for a student as the committees are large and consist of very educated and more experienced members. Jason always amazed me as he still managed to find his voice in a very respectful manner amid difficult conversations.
As Student Association Vice President, Jason was engaged in several large issues that affected the future of our campus. One of the projects was a decision that will affect students for the next 30 plus years - a decision to repair our student center or to build a new structure. Jason represent students on a committee involved in the pre-design of the potential new student center. He tirelessly worked to understand the building issues, student interests, and campus needs. As his understanding grew, he realized that a new facility was in the best interest of campus. However, the student body at large needed to vote on increasing their fees so he needed to educate them on the issues. Jason was adamant that we not tell students how to vote, but rather educate and inform them on the issues and impacts of either build new or repair. After months of arduous research and then education, the issue was put to student vote, resulting n the development of a new student center that will positively impact our community for decades to come.
I have seen first-hand Jason's desire to find meaningful experiences to devote his energy and broad skills. He is an intelligent and compassionate young man who demonstrates the ability to problem solve and the reliability to follow through on commitments. I am confident that he will be an asset to your organization and will work diligently to fulfill his duties and earn the respect of his colleagues.
Sincerely,
